Welcome to my

PORTFOLIO

“Design is the intermediary between information and understanding.” -Hans Hoffman

To me, graphic design is about taking complex information and presenting it in a way that can be easily, or at least fairly easily, understood. I strive to make my work simple and straightforward, but with a sense of fun. While each project is different, there are 5 general parameters I tend to stick to:

  1. Clean lines

  2. A limited but bright color palette

  3. Sans serif fonts

  4. A sense of humor

  5. Thoughtful

When I’m working on a project for a client, I like to start with a conversation so I really understand the goals and the desired outcomes. It really helps to set the tone and direction for the project much better than words alone. This means there’s a better chance for success!

For my personal brand, I followed the same parameters as listed above. My shapes tend to be mostly geometric but with rounded edges, giving them a clean but more natural look.

My primary color is orange because its loud, energetic, and whimsical. I joke that I have an “orange” personality. According to the Insights color wheel, Yellow is about being sociable and enthusiastic where Red is about determination and having a direct approach. I always fall smack dab in the middle of those and what do you get when you mix red and yellow? Orange of course!

The font I use is called Antipoda and I absolutely love the contrast between the thick and narrow portions of the font, especially when used in its bold versions. I also looks a bit like my own handwriting so it really feels like a good match.

Hopefully, in all of this, my both sense of humor and my thought process is evident. It’s a bit like having a conversation, with myself. I hope you enjoy the following portfolio.
